This custom, plug-and-play, Game Boy Advance SP Battery stands out from other alternatives by providing a true 900 mAh capacity to your GBA SP, enough to fuel newer IPS LCDs for hours on end.

This item consists of our custom iteration of Makho's GBASP Battery Board. It's assembled in a custom-made 3D printed housing (available for free on our Thingiverse) and uses replaceable high quality 900 mAh LiPo batteries, like our other battery pack products.

Notes

  • A Phillips Screwdriver is required to remove the battery door separately
  • Although the LiPo manufacturer claims a capacity of 900 mAh battery life, exact capacity may vary (usually higher).
  • Please note that batteries are prohibited from being shipped into Germany. Orders to Germany will be canceled and refunded. Unfortunately, this situation is out of our control. We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
  • Our battery packs are produced in-house, meaning some production time is always involved. Each battery goes through a rigorous quality assurance process before shipping.
  • With a minor modification, you are able to use this battery with the original Nintendo DS.

Basically, it's essential

It quadruples the battery life of your SP without having to mod it. I'd say it's essential, especially if you use an IPS screen or flash cart.

I made the mistake of first buying a replacement GBA SP battery from Amazon. Ended up lasting a measly 1.5 hrs, if that. I returned that junk and then bought this battery from Retro Modding. Incredible! GBA SP lasted for ~9+ hrs on this battery before getting the red light! Running a GBA game, with screen brightness on and at max volume the whole time. Never going to even think of buying a battery replacement from anyone else. (The battery was a very very tight fit though which did worry me at first, but so far no problems.)

Easy Direct Replacement for GBA SP

Fits right into the battery space of an unmodified shell, and is a huge capacity upgrade compared to the original battery's 600 mAh. Capacity is actually what it says on the tin.

I think this was the best choice for a replacement battery. As good or better than an original Gameboy sp battery.
