I’m not super handy, but I was able to accomplish this! I’m so excited to give this to my kids for Christmas. It looks outstanding - and all the color choices bring the games to LIFE! Way better than that old, hard to see (and then, only in the best ambient, non-direct lighting). Glorious!

I'm really happy with this kit. It was easy, simple, and quick to install. The screen looks great, both with and without the pixel grid effect, and my old DMG plays great. I couldn't be any happier with it.

This is THE DMG IPS kit to get. Amazing features (pixel grid, color options, brightness adjustment), and wonderful results. Button presses are accurate, and it makes playing the games from my childhood so much better than before.

the lcd is bright and beautiful with a lot of options for positioning and colors. had some issues with the backlight but they got back to me pretty swiftly and helped me solve my issue.

I have been happy with the screen. It's bright so that helps my old eyes. The only issue I have had is the bracket that holds the screen is a little flimsy. It's 3d printed and not of the best quality. It gets the job done though.

The same thing as my previous feedback... Nobody call me or write me, and never received anything...

It's awesome. Easy install and a great upgrade.

The mod was relatively easy to install and a perfect screen replacement works like a dream

If you don’t like receiving constant emails months after your order for reviewing, order somewhere else. Sure, you could unsubscribe, but the aggressive behavior will make me shop elsewhere from now on.

Needed to modify the case on our original dmg to widen the screen area, but with the right tools and a little bravery and patience it worked out great!

I bought this display and wanted to use it in an OEM shell. Unfortunately, the screen is not the same ratio as the original Gameboy, so parts of the screen will not be visible. While the screen can be moved horizontally and vertically, I haven’t found a way to shrink it to the proper ratio.

Picked up this screen kit for my restored OG Gameboy DMG and it is perfect. Love the ease of installation and various color settings. Minimal soldering (only for speaker connect to this board). Highly recommend if you're thinking to give a refresh to your GB handheld.

Best option for DMG screen replacement, easy installation only slight shell trimming needed. Be very careful with the LCD it is very fragile however

This is my third IPS display mod from these guys and both the product from Funny Playing and the service from Retro Modding is top notch. This was probably a bit easier than the GBC version, but with more screws. The toughest part is feeding the large ribbon cable.

Great kit! Easy to install, and it comes with a perfect alignment bracket and nice glass lens. My only qualm was with the kit itself (not RetroModding's fault): on some games, the screen gives random pixels or artifacts. Only happens on a few games. For me it was Link's Awakening. If you google it, it seems to be a problem with this version of the screen kit. Hopefully FunnyPlaying will fix it in the future. Otherwise, fantastic!

I got this kit for a gift and the picture looks gorgeous. The one thing I would be careful with is the ribbon cable slots are quite tight and can be tricky to install

I had problems with button presses being missed and d-pad performance with the RIPS v2 kit. There are no noticeable issues with button performance with this kit, there are more color options, and the retro grid effect is surprisingly good. I'm just waiting for someone to make an OLED upgrade next.
