Insert de coque pour Game Boy Advance SP

I thought this was a nice alternative to looking at foam backing on the screen. I ordered the pink insert and it was opaque enough to conceal the innards. Fit perfectly into the translucent IPS shell I used for the project. I'm a fan of this little thing.

The insert leaves a 1/8 inch gap on one side of the shell so some of the back of the screen can still be seen…… it’s ugly and light peeks out along the edge but not as ugly as seeing the back foam without an insert.

I’ve purchased 4 of them in different colors and they all have the same issue so it isn’t just a one time flaw with one particular insert.

Overall I'm pretty pleased with the product. The insert fits nicely in both FUNNYPLAYING and Cloud Gaming screens (although, due to the nature of the CGS screens, one side will be raised.)

A warning, however, because the insert is not quite big enough to cover the entirety of the back of an IPS-compatible screen, so if you have foam back there or something it'll stick out the side slightly. Not a complete deal breaker, but might be if you care a lot about uniformity. Probably fits perfectly on a non-IPS shell.

I think the Shell inserts for the Game Boy advance sp are a great idea. I bought 2 because I wanted multiple colors to try out for my clear SP. unfortunately, only 1 came in fitting to the correct size. And the other was too large to function. Unfortunately 50% success is not great, and so even though I like the product that works, half of what I bought has no more function than being a sheet of plastic. For that reason I am giving this 2/5 stars

Shell Insert for Game Boy Advance SP

Fits in a standard shell and are clearly 3D printed. They flex a little, but are mostly stiff. You may need to sand a bit of the edges to get a smooth finish on it

This has brought new life into my gameboy advance SP, the transparent shell with the new IPS screen = straight beauty. Been playing fire emblem again and having a blast, thanks RetroModding :)

Looks far better than the foam cushioning if you're replacing an oem shell with a clear one. $7 is a little steep for a couple grams of 3D printed plastic though.

Very good product

I got through shell swapping to a clear shell, and I didn't foresee the cheap white foam of the screen replacement to be such an eye sore. This cleaned it right up, looks great!

This little plastic insert fits perfectly and adds a splash of color to the transparent SP shells.

Honestly if you are getting a clear shell, you need one of these. Looks really nice and ties the whole thing together!

Fits just snug enough that you don't have to worry about it moving when you reassemble your SP!

This is such a simple idea, but it absolutely improves the aesthetics of any clear colored SP. You could I suppose make your own insert out of card stock or something but this is nice because it fits exactly into the shell, and it also helps keep the screen in place. Without an insert, the top of the sp looks a bit weird, with the single pcb chip of the IPS screen in the corner. I picked up a few colors of the inserts to test how they look in my clear green and clear red SPs. The glittery grey one is super nice looking too

Game Boy Advance SP Shell Insert

Ordered the green one for my Translucent GBA SP which had the foam visible behind the LCD. Easy install - you don't even have to pop hinges or disconnect the ribbon cable. Nice texture, too!
