Not for beginners. Read the instructions on Funny Playing's website before you dive in. Also: flash Cart users - this doesn't work well, you're better off with a used GBC. (Read the silly manual.)

Excellent beginner project

The quality of the build is excellent. I found I didn’t need the d-pad riser in the end, the response was better without.
Easy and quick to assemble. Start to finish in less than an hour and the end result is a nice quality finish.

Fantastic Product

This system is as close to authentic as you can get in terms of feeling like an original Gameboy Color when holding it. The buttons feel great and the screen quality is excellent. There are a small few graphical glitches here and there, though they rarely pop up and don't hinder gameplay when they show up.

Sometimes original Gameboy games have an issue with displaying certain sprites and objects, but there is a setting for this that barely takes time to turn on.

The only assembly issue I had was plugging in the speaker and battery, but once they popped in (after a struggle that admittedly took far longer than I should have had with it, my fault completely) they're good to go.

Pretty good but the switch broke

It is great in every way except one: the power switch broke immediately. I read an anecdote in the comments of a video I made about it that shared my experience so that's at least two times this has happened. Very strange. I used the switch off of an original console to replace it.
