Unfortunately, many aftermarket Game Boy Color D-pads have a flatter rocker than the OEM buttons. As a result, the D-pad will sit slightly lower than expected, and allows for the input of opposite directions simultaneously.

This simple 3D-printed riser has been designed to correct that, and restore the genuine feel to your aftermarket buttons. Designed to sit between the silicone and the PCB, the simple, no adhesive install will make correcting problematic D-pads quick and easy!

Please note that, not all the D-pad need it, this riser is designed to correct only the D-pads which have a flatter rocker than the OEM buttons.

Features

  • Simple drop-in installation

Didn't work for me

The LED's on my kit are so close together that it did not allow the d-pad riser to touch the center surface of the d-pad. I also am not the biggest fan of the color it came in, like a light glittery bluish green. I ended up having to find my own solution by just careful trimming away some of the membranes causing me the issue I was having.

Excellent - they work perfectly for the aftermarket shells that I have tried them on

They don't look like they would even do anything, but they actually make the d-pad work flawlessly, for all of the aftermarket GBC shells that I have used them on!

Did not work for me

The riser kept the FunnyPlaying d-pad from pushing the directional buttons sometimes. Once removed it worked fine. I even installed and removed again to be sure. The riser was the problem. I then had a friend 3d print one from their 3d printable file, and same problem. Wouldn't recommend.

D Pad Risers

My after market Funny Playing D pad was not reading the inputs correctly. I was hoping the spacers would fix the problem since they are not exact measurements of the OEM and the OEM works perfectly. After trying to put the spacer in I could not even move the D Pad. Maybe, they work better with another after market D Pad but not this one. I had to remove it.

Didn’t work for me

I had to remove the D-Pad riser for the D-Pad to work on my FunnyPlaying FBGA GBC kit.
