Unfortunately, many aftermarket Game Boy Color D-pads have a flatter rocker than the OEM buttons. As a result, the D-pad will sit slightly lower than expected, and allows for the input of opposite directions simultaneously.
This simple 3D-printed riser has been designed to correct that, and restore the genuine feel to your aftermarket buttons. Designed to sit between the silicone and the PCB, the simple, no adhesive install will make correcting problematic D-pads quick and easy!
The files to print your own D-pad riser can be found on our Thingiverse, here.
For aftermarket D pads
I tried using this with an aftermarket d-pad. Without the riser, the aftermarket d-pad was not ideal. With the riser, the aftermarket d-pad didn't work at all. I had to remove the aftermarket d-pad and the riser, and use an OEM d-pad.
