The quality of this case is fantastic. This is my first time adding an after market case to game boy but i am glad this was the choice i made. Feels very high quality just like the original case.
(Note: the included picture is after I cut the bezel out; it didn’t come like that!)
What retromodding calls “Famicon Green” is almost identical to Play It Loud Green, an original Gameboy color. I searched far and wide for this color and couldn’t find it until recently. I had already purchased a used PIL Green Gameboy to use as a donor but luckily found this one instead, and now I don’t have to cut up the old Gameboy- I can restore it!
Anyway, comparing the two side by side, it’s almost exactly the same color. The original is slightly darker but I attribute that to ~24 years of gathering grime and dust. In truth, they’re the same color.
The quality is great too. I can’t wait to finish my GBZ build!
I purchased the Famicom Blue shell and was satisfied with the shell I had received. The color is vibrant and solid, and the shell almost as high-quality as the OEM shells.
Shell feels great, plastic is high quality, not brittle at all. I would definitely use this type again.
Pretty happy with the quality of this shell. When compared to an OG DMG, there's very little difference. This is going to be my nicest GBZ yet :).
